We will be hosting our Annual Resident Fair, Friday, June 18, 2010, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the AKALAT Center here in La Push, 1 By Yak Way (Behind the La Push Police Station).
Guests include representatives from: Sterling Bank and First Federal, Friends of Forks Animals, Quileute Commodities Program, Quileute Human Services: Domestic Violence Program, representative for the General Assistance Program and LIHEAP as well as Quileute Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Prevention Program, USDA representatives, Olympic Community Action Programs, Quileute Health Center, North Olympic Library System, Clallam County PUD, our Maintenance Staff will also be on hand to offer valuable home-maintenance tips and there will be fire extinguisher demonstrations by our La Push Volunteer Fire Department Chief Chris Morganroth IV.
Lunch will be served at noon for participants. There will be many great door prizes. Everyone is welcome! We hope to see you there!
Our RRAP 2 Projects are now complete. Joe Soha, Soha Construction received the contract for this project. We have been fortunate to receive assistance from the Tribal Council to continue this program.
The Resident of the Quarter winners for June: Mike Flores, Sr. for Quileute Heights and John and Carolyn Ward for Raven Crest.
The Residents of the Quarter are residents that have demonstrated commitment in caring for and maintaining their homes. They have demonstrated responsibility by making timely house payments and have been considerate of their neighbor’s right to quiet enjoyment of their homes. Next winners will be announced in September.
Joe Garrick, Sr. retired from his position as Maintenance Foreman as of April 1st. Josh Fagan stepped up as our new Maintenance Foreman opening up a position in our Maintenance Department. Tommy Baker was the successful applicant. He joined our staff April 9th. Congratulations to each of them.
Thanks to BM1 Brendan Canny of the US Coast Guard Quillayute River who taught a Water Safety Class May 5th at the Community Center. Thanks also to Karen Beyer for setting this up.
Special thanks to Tribal Council for funding a Canine Vaccination and Medication Program that will be offered to canine pets in the village. Karen Beyer, Sharon Penn and Linda George will be visiting homes in the village to administer vaccinations and flea and de-worming medications to our pets.

Our 7th Annual Surfing and Traditions event is set for Saturday July 10. The morning session will begin at 10:00am. Preregistration is available with Darci Black or Karen Beyer at the Youth Center (Blue Shed) or by dropping by the QHA office. Parents must sign permission slips in the presence of QHA or YC Staff.
The Quileute Days Kids’ Carnival is set for Saturday, July 17th, beginning at 2:00pm. We will have kids’ games with goody bags for participants. Watch for additional information via community postings.
